The John Logan Monument in Grant Park. Image source. |
This story is so horrific, I had to read it twice, just to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me.
A Caucasian male in his fifties, was badly beaten and sexually assaulted in a downtown Chicago park.
On March 26, 2011, around 12 a.m., a passerby discovered a partially nude man lying on the ground near the General John Logan Monument in Grant Park, which is located at 901 S. Michigan Avenue.
The man's face was covered in bruises and other parts of his body revealed signs of sexual trauma. Doctors at Northwestern Memorial Hospital said part of a tree branch had to be surgically removed from the man's rectum.
Although it has been reported that the victim is homeless, other sources indicate the man lives in a northwest suburb of Chicago.
This fact has not been mentioned in the press, but at one point, Grant Park, especially at night, was well known for homosexual activities.
If this doesn't help the housing market in the South Loop, nothing will.
ReplyDeleteVery sad story. Anyone know if the guy is okay?
ReplyDeleteThis is just plain sad and disgusting! Thank goodness they caught the scumbag that did this. I think this was a "random" act of violence against this person. I also think the word "parole" should be dropped from the English language. This "alleged" perpetrator was on parole. Guess he missed the "action" in prison..not to worry, "The bitch is back" will be played when he arrives back in his cell!
ReplyDeleteAt the hospital, various reports mentioned that the victim is surviving..
ReplyDeleteBrings new meaning to "woody".
