Phoenix police have arrested an 18-year-old boy for raping a 17-year-old girl, but do police have the right person?
The alleged incident occurred on the morning of April 25, 2011, while the female victim was walking to school.
A suspect, believed to be 18-year-old Dajuan Donaldson, took the girl by knifepoint into an abandoned home, where she was sexually assaulted, said investigators.
Today, Donaldson was arrested at a Fry's grocery store. The accused rapist's mother was with him when he was taken into custody.
Authorities believe Donaldson is also responsible for raping a 10-year-old girl and a 12-year-old girl.
Police say DNA evidence links the 18-year-old boy to the three sexual assaults.
Donaldson's mother, Cherise Donaldson-Hackett, said she doesn't believe her son is capable of rape, but she also said that if DNA evidence proves her son is guilty, she apologizes for Dajuan Donaldson's actions.
During an ABC15 news report, the suspected serial rapist's pregnant fiancée, Tahki Page, told reporters she believes Donaldson is being framed by the Phoenix Police Department.
