On November 29, 2011, around 1:45 p.m., a passenger boarded a westbound Miami-Dade County bus on 5000 block of Oakland Park Boulevard. He never made it to his final destination... at least not on that bus.
A security camera shows the male passenger feeding three one dollar bills into the farebox.
While holding a fourth bill in his hand, the passenger and the bus driver exchanged words.
The bus pulls off and about a block down the road, the passenger is apparently asked to get off the bus.
Obviously feeling like he had been done wrong, the passenger tossed a trash can at the bus driver as he exited the bus.
According to the Miami-Dade County government website, a straight fare is $2 and 1-day bus pass is $5. However, passengers paying with cash must pay the full fare every time they board a bus.
But here's what I don't understand... even if the passenger didn't have enough money to pay for a 1-day pass, which is what I presume he was trying to purchase, he still paid for a straight fare.
So, why was he kicked off the bus?
(In my best Paula Dean voice) I think a piece of this pie is missing, y'all.
