Wednesday morning, actress Reese Witherspoon, 35, was nearly ran over and killed.
An 84-year-old woman, driving about 35 miles an hour, struck Witherspoon with her car.
Witherspoon was jogging in Santa Monica, near Los Angeles, when the elderly driver mowed her down, said news reports.
Witherspoon, who suffered minor injuries, was treated and released from a local hospital.
The driver, whom I have nicknamed the female Mr. Magoo, was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
Folks, I am not an ageist, but once you reach a certain age, you need to give up your car keys and buy a damn bus pass!
