Security pulls woman off Bobbi Kristina at funeral, Ray J breaks down, cries

Written By Alfred Haynes on Saturday, February 18, 2012 | Saturday, February 18, 2012

Saturday, as Whitney Houston's golden casket was being escorted from the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey, carried to the tune of her biggest hit, I Will Always Love You, several notable moments caught my eye.

As Bobbi Kristina tearful trailed her beloved mother's remains, a woman with blond hair, wearing a white jacket and skirt, stepped into the aisle and wrapped Kristina in a strong embrace.

Within in seconds, a nearby security guard literally pried the woman's hands from around Bobbi Kristina's neck.

Then, the same woman tried to latch on to another person following Whitney's casket, and almost lost her balance.

It appears security had strict orders to keep everyone away from Whitney Houston's grieving daughter; including Bobby Brown.

Another poignant moment worth mentioning, is the moment when singer Ray J., broke down and cried.

Gently placing his hand on Whitney's casket, as it rest upon her pallbearers' shoulders, Brandy's little bother became so overwhelmed with grief, he collapsed into his seat and wept like a baby.

In my 43 years on this planet, as far as entertainers go, Whitney Houston's death has been one of the most painful for me.

In my book, Nippy's struggles didn't make her less popular, it make her more human.

Every time Whitney Houston stumbled, as we all do, I, along with the millions of people who love and adore her, were there hoping our Whitney would soar, again.

Whitney wasn't just a singer, she was the voice of a generation. And now, that generation has been left speechless.

You are so right. I've loved witney sense I could remember and as people put her down about her drug addictions I prayed she would overcome however as everyone said I'm sure she loved the lord and he loved her so I know she is resting in peace..... on a heavier note I'm unset about the way the news had found a way to make her look bad. There is not a perfect person other than jesus and we all do stuff.... smh

Chris, it seems like some people are going out of their way to be extra mean spirited toward her. I don't know if race has something to do with it or not.

The woman was one of Whitneys close friends Cherelle(also a singer) who travelled to LA with her when she first left Bobby and helped her get clean.

I knew Cherelle was at the funeral, but I didn't know she was the woman security pulled off Bobbi Kristina. Interesting.

this is very sad she was a great singer and now we all realize that she was human too. Bobbi keep your head up you know WHitney is still looking and guiding you.

The spelling and grammatical errors in this article are horrendous.

You summed it up very well. People expect celebs to be perfect, when they are not. None of them are. They are human, just like everyone else. Sure Whitney had her struggles, as we all do. However, it did nothing to diminish her talent, which was beyond immeasurable. God truly gave her a rare, amazing gift, which she used to bring joy to millions.

Like you, her passing, has had a huge impact upon me. I too am a part of that generation which saw her burst upon the scene as a young woman in her 20s. I'm glad I was able to see it all unfold.
