Gay rumors get Jacob Lusk voted off American Idol?

Written By Alfred Haynes on Thursday, May 5, 2011 | Thursday, May 05, 2011

Back in March of 2011, I predicted that Jacob Lusk was too "femme" to win American Idol. I was right.

Tonight, the effeminate singer was voted off the show. Lusk is a decent R&B/gospel singer, but his girly ways seemingly turned off too many American Idol viewers.

When Ryan Seacrest announced Lusk's departure, the portly crooner kept his composure and held himself with dignity and grace.

Jacob Lusk's final American performance of Luther Vandross' rendition of a House Is Not A Home, was decent until he got to the end of the song, where Lusk hollered like a banshee and sang out of tune.

Is this the end of Lusk's singing career, or just the beginning?

Jacob was just another 'dime a dozen' r&b/gospel/motown flashback singers. there are a billion of them out there, he just happened to make it on the show. furthermore, Casey should not have been voted off before Jacob, but in the end, they both are not AI material anyways, so it doesnt mean SH(#$% all.

I knew as soon as Jacob was eliminated..someone would throw the racist card on the table..Race had nothing to do with it..He was horrible to begin with and never should have made it as far as he did..He sings like his tongue is too large for his mouth..I hated listening to him

Am I the only one on the planet who DOESN'T watch Idol?

I’m glad that Jacob was voted off. It should have been sooner. I could not stand watching his performances. There are a lot of Black gay men in the “Black Church” who denies their gay sexuality. Jacob’s family knows he’s gay and they need ‘Man Up.’ Put down the tambourine Jacob and learn to play baseball.

Jacob was in a league of his own...not idol material at all. I was amazed he lasted as long as he did. It's 2011, not 1960 folks. Those that are pointing the gay/race finger are generally those that have the issue. BIG TIME! The majority of people are quite excepting of gay and don't see color first. They see the person and their talent. Jacob lacked talent. I'm glad he's gone. He's annoying and irritating. I've been an idol fan since day one and never have voted because someone has a certain color hair, skin or dress.

Did he ever had men in his life .
Its so sad his dad died !
Because he probably wasn't going to be so soft and girly & gay.

Correction : It should be " kept his composure" not "kept his composer". Idol contestants don't "keep" composers. Lol.

towanda, I don't watch 'American Idol'. :)

'American Idol' is similar to 'Showtime At The Apollo', 'Star Search' and '[Your] Big Break'.

I agree, American Idol is a sham. I also agree that black contestants that can really sing are intentionally overlooked. The judges always pick blacks who can barely sing and put them through just to make a quota.

Jacob was anointed to sing - and he did. Being that he is a child of God- and has the "gift" to sing - is beyond the audience who eliminated him. He is an humble man- full of humility and whether he is gay or not is between him and his Creator. Take a look in the mirror and recognize your ignorance America - because whereever you go, "you" will always be there. Are you happy with yourself- if not, "change'. Jacob will and has made it - so no need to worry- Scotty needs to cool off and stop panting after all of the females.

White people can't sing and black people that possess no talent are the only ones that get through....really? And white people are the ones that are considered racists...those are the most racist comments I've ever heard but here's a racist comment for you...it's a comment typical of black people....can't accept that they just didn't make the cut because they truly weren't talented enough so they blame racism rather than accept they just weren't good enough regardless of skin tone. Jacob didn't deserve to be on AI and it had nothing to do with color or sexuality. As far as quotas go, blacks forced the invention of quotas and now blame those quotas showcase the lack of talent possessed by their people in a certain field. Has it ever crossed your mind Jacob made it through because he truly was the most talented black person that auditioned however pathetic he may be and that his talent and not his race got him exactly as far (and quite possibly much farther) as it should have based strictly on that fact and that fact alone: talent? That's my view he made it based on his talent and he lost it on his talent...nothing more nothing less!
