Desperate? Oprah wants black people to save her failing network?

After years of being accused of catering to white audiences and focusing on predominately white-oriented topics, the fading queen of talk is about to start courting her black viewers.

Since Oprah's move to the Oprah Winfrey Network, it appears her white sisters and brothers from another mother have turned their backs on her.

OWN executives are hoping to save Oprah's struggling network by capitalizing on the popularity of "Welcome to Sweetie Pies", a show that features an African American family.

"Since Welcome to Sweetie Pies premiered, OWN has enjoyed an average prime-time viewership of around 216,000 people. Sweetie Pies has seen an average audience of around 418,000, making it the highest rated show on the network by far in that period," reported Adweek.com.

Sweetie Pies success may be a light at the end of a dark and ever-narrowing tunnel, but if Oprah's network goes black, will she ever be able to come back?

Everyone knows that the advertising market for predominately black networks like BET and TV One, is not on the same level with the advertising dollars that are spent on networks like Lifetime, HGTV or TNT.

If Oprah loses her white audience, she can kiss the big bucks good-bye!
