Too bad being stupid isn't illegal.

On December 14, 2011, authorities apprehended a salt and pepper team of apparently not-so bright criminals after an allegedly staged robbery was uncovered at a Dothan, Alabama retail store.

Police said 27-year-old Bridgett Ann Pruitt, a white cashier at the Big Lots at 3121 Ross Clark Circle, willingly gave 27-year-old Joshua Parks, who is black, a bag of cash from her register.

When Parks left the scene of the alleged fake robbery, Pruitt called police and told them she had been robbed by a black man.

However, when investigators reviewed the surveillance footage they determined Pruitt was not a victim - she was an accomplice.

According to WSFA 12 News, Pruitt later confessed to setting up the phony robbery.

That same night, Parks was arrested near a residence on South Bell Street, said the local news station.

Pruitt was reportedly charged with filing a false police report and theft, which I believe are misdemeanor charges.

Her black counterpart was allegedly charged with second-degree theft, a Class C felony.

Pruitt and Parks' bail was set at $15,000 each.
