Dayton, Ohio lowers police exam scores - too many blacks failed

Dayton plans to hire cops who can barely read, simply because they're black?

The U.S. Department of Justice pressured Dayton, Ohio into lowering the passing test scores on the city's police exam, because too many African-Americans failed the test.

Under the city's old guidelines, applicants had to score 66% on one portion of the exam and 72% on the other part of the test. Thanks to the new dumbed-down quiz, potential police recruits are only required to pass 58% of the 1st test, and 63% of the other.

If you think all the black people in Dayton are thrilled about the city’s lowered expectations - think again.

Zachary Williams, an African-American who dreams of becoming a law enforcement officer or a firefighter, says he opposes the city’s decision to hire lesser qualified applicants, simply because they are black.

"I don’t want to be in a department where I was hired because of my skin color. I want it because I earned it," Williams told the Dayton Daily News.

Bravo to Williams..poopoo to Dayton for basically saying it's ok to be stupid!
Can't read? Wow, have fun trying to find an address. Guess Dayton will really use that adage "better late than never"!

The city of Dayton deserves better. Who wants barely literate police officers (of any race) making life and death situations?
