Willow Smith's dangerous performance at the 2011 Kids' Choice Awards show : Should her parents be arrested?

Written By Alfred Haynes on Sunday, April 3, 2011 | Sunday, April 03, 2011

Would you dangle your 9-year-old daughter several feet in the air, just for applause?

I guess when you're a celebrity, you are exempt from surprise visits from Child Protective Services.

Will and Jada Pinkett Smith allowed their teeny-tiny daughter, Willow, to be suspended by cables, several feet in the air, during the 2011 Kids' Choice Awards show.

Willow flew dangerously above the stunned audience while singing the lyrics to 21st Century Girl. Once she landed safely on the stage, the seemingly overworked child celebrity launched into her hit single, Whip My Hair.

Am I the only one who feels like Willow's parents don't give a damn about her safety?

I don't feel that Willows parents don't care for her. She was performing and I am darn sure the Jada especially checked every cord, procedure, that was involved with her daughter hanging. Your just looking for something to be negative about "seemingly overworked". How did you come to that conclusion? Willow is making a positive impact on our children and her parent are responsible for that.

"Willow is making a positive impact on our children"??? Personally, I think, at 9 years old, she is growing up way to fast. Make-up? The outfits? Shaking it on stage? How is this making a "positive impact on children?" What will she have to look forward to when she becomes a teenager because she will "have been there done that" Seriously, 9 years old? Where is her childhood going? She has ALL the advantages RIGHT NOW because her parents are who they are. Name one other 9 YEAR OLD who has been on stage in a full blown concert event? She is a child and should be a CHILD! My question would be why are Will & Jada putting their 9 YEAR OLD daughter in the spotlight like this? She'll be retired by the time she's 16.. Why are parents pushing their children to grow up soooo fast?

Jada Pinkett Smith allegedly told someone in an interview, that her children DON'T GO TO SCHOOL - IF THEY DON'T WANT TO!!!!! I think that says it all!!!!!

Oprah complemented Will's and Jada's good parenting skills. :)

And Oprah would know what "good parenting" is right? I understand she raises dogs not children:)

Oprah. The same woman who did a Mother's Day show and never mentioned her OWN mother, is an expert on "good" parenting. Figures.

Based on life experiences, when an adult is no longer a child, he or she has some insight on what good parenting is about.

How come you all think this was jada/will Smith decision? Maybe Willow came to them and wanted this for herself. I remember as a kid I wanted to be a movie star also. With her parents being Super Rich, she can live her dream. Maybe you all believe she should be some where learning how to become a drug user and a alcoholic. She is watch at all time. Either by her parents or a guardian.
Will and Jada LOVE their children. And I believe they love all children, that is why they had two babies. I hate those stars that only have 1 kid. Vanessa Williams is a real mom.

demi1more,
Since when can a 9 year old go to her parents and TELL them what she wants? No one said Will & Jada didn't love their kids..sheesh, read things into comments much? As parents, regardless if they're "Super Rich" or not, 9 years old is too young to tell anyone anything and her parents should have set a time when she could pursue her dream..9 years old is not it!

demi1more, how does one, two or more or no children pertain to this story?

Nobody suggested that she (or anyone) become a drug (which includes alcohol) addict.
